Hi everyone,
Ever since I upgraded to Internet Explorer 8, I've noticed 2 IE processes everytime I open up the browser. Is there a way to have it showing one like it used to?
nope. You see, with IE 8, it spawns a new prcess every time you open a new window (possibly tab too, don't remember for sure.) IT does this in theory to make it more robust, so that even if one page freezes, not all of them do. (this only works sometimes in actual practice)
yeah. This is true... It's an IE8 thing. and even if you kill one of the processes, it will re-open it again. This is worse than cloans of robots invading the world!
My question is this: is IE8 really worth it? Mozilla firefox all the way...But, I wouldn't mindgiving IE 8 a try just to see waht has been fixed, sstuff like that.
*shrugs* I find IE8 to actuallly be faster browser than firefox. And sometimes displays things better. But I also crash it a lot more often than firefox. Like anything there's pros and conns.
IE does run faster for me than Firefox does; but I agree that it crashes more too.
I run IE8, and it really doesn't crash for me. Might be you guys' system configurations or something.
hmm i use them both unfortunately and well i don't notice a noticeable speed difference, though i do have my firefox loaded up with a few extensions and usually have atleast a few tabs open where as IE is usually one Tab .. so so in my case it would seem that IE has an unfair advantage. In the end their are just 2 many advantages to firefox for me to ever go back to IE full time
New tabs load slower in IE. At least, for me it has been like that. I'm starting to use Firefox more. Now that I discovered that when selecting something in a list box it wont jump to that page like it does in IE. Oh, and Web Visum is pretty cool too.
One issue I'm having with FF is that jaws gets confused and reads the wrong tab. It will say google, and read everything on the google page when it's the Zone that it's supposed to read. Confusing. Huh?
yeah that happens to me as well alt tabbing to something else and back to FF usually fixes that or refreshing the page if its not something thats time sensative that you are trying to read works as well.
